social science and energy positions
Three assistant professor positions
Economics
Energy economists focus on questions as diverse as the pricing of energy in local and international markets, the effects of higher energy costs on the economy, and the design of energy policies.
We are particularly interested in candidates with specializations in:
1) experimental economics, with emphasis on testing predictions of responses to incentives underlying energy and environmental policies;
2) public economics, with emphasis on tax incentives, externalities, public goods, and the environment;
3) industrial organization, with emphasis on regulation, the analysis of second-best policy solutions and optimal resource extraction; and
4) applied microeconomics, with an emphasis on consumer choice models related to energy usage, biofuels, and the adoption of new energy technologies.
The successful candidate would have a primary appointment in economics and would likely collaborate with faculty in political science and the school of public policy.
