U-M Energy Workshop: Forging Alliances, Positioning for Opportunity
On March 12, 2009, the Michigan Memorial Phoenix Energy Institute hosted an energy workshop. The purpose of the workshop was to:
- Provide insight on the funding landscape from the experts
- Update and share U-M’s intellectual capital in energy research
- Identify strengths and opportunities and how to capitalize on them
- Begin forging alliances, both within U-M and with external partners
The workshop consisted of four parts:
- Presentations by select external speakers about the national funding landscape
- Brief presentations by faculty about their energy research
- Roundtable discussions over lunch aimed at shaping strategies for upcoming opportunities
- Energy rearch grants for creating alliances and partnerships to prepare for research opportunities
