Bart Bartlett
Bart M. Bartlett started his career in chemistry with an A.B. summa cum laude in chemistry from Washington University in St. Louis in 2000, doing undergraduate research with Professor William E. Buhro. He then went on to earn a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry in 2005 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he studied spin frustration in low-dimensional materials with Professor Daniel G. Nocera. Subsequently, he moved to the University of California Berkeley as a UC President’s Postdoctoral Fellow with Professor Jeffrey R. Long.
Bart started as an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry in July 2008. His research interests are in inorganic materials, particularly investigating the correlation between atomic/molecular structure and electronic structure for the applications of water oxidation, battery cathode production, and superconductivity. Research in the group aims to control composition and morphology of materials at the level of synthesis.
More information about his research program can be found at http://www.umich.edu/~bmbgroup.
Bart is an MMPEI Faculty Fellow.
