Katta Murty CNG for cars
Katta G. Murty
Faculty Fellow

Katta Murty's area of specialization is mathematical models for optimum decision making, and efficient algorithms to solve them. He is currently working on developing decision support systems for daily operations in container terminals to minimize fuel burnt in harbors by container trucks and vessels. Another project he has investigated is a study which compares the input energy needed to grow corn and converting it into ethanol, with the output energy generated by burning that ethanol in a car.

Murty is also interested in studying the problem of comparing the energy consumed to produce hydrogen from water with the energy generated by burning that hydrogen in a car powered by fuel cells.

Katta G. Murty is a MMPEI Faculty Fellow.
