Henry Y. Wang
Henry Wang is a professor of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at UM. He is also the Director of the interdisciplinary graduate research and training program in Pharmaceutical Engineering at UM.
He has over 25 years of academic and industrial experience in biochemical and biopharmaceutical engineering and development. He inherited a highly successful bio-option program within Chemical Engineering when he joined UM in 1979. This option requires the engineering students to take microbiology, biochemistry and biochemical engineering in addition to regular engineering courses.
One of his current research interests is in bioprocessing for sustainable development which includes developing robust non-sterile alcoholic fermentation processes and design reconfigurable mini-plants to produce biofuels from various biomass feedstocks.
Henry Y. Wang is a MMPEI Faculty Fellow.
